At AJ Farms, transparency and customer satisfaction

What type of hay do you carry?
We grow a variety of premium hay blends, including:
1st Cut: Light Timothy Alfalfa (TA), Timothy Orchard Alfalfa (TOA), Orchard, Timothy, Orchard Alfalfa (OA), and heavy Alfalfa Orchard.
2nd Cut: All of the above, with softer texture and higher leaf content—perfect for show and race horses.
All hay is baled in small squares unless otherwise requested.
What's the minimum order size?
The minimum order is 1 full bundle, which includes 21 small square bales. We don’t offer partial bundles—this helps us maintain consistent quality and packaging across all deliveries.
How often do you ship?
We ship part orders every other week. If you're ordering a half or full truckload, we can arrange earlier delivery to better suit your barn’s needs.
Who unloads the hay when it arrives?
Our customers handle the unloading. Don’t worry—we strap every load to help make moving the hay to the back of the trailer easier. We’re always happy to share tips for a smooth unload!
Do you only offer small square bales?
Nope! While we mostly ship small squares for LTL (less-than-truckload) orders, we also offer pasture blocks and round rolls. If you’re interested, just reach out—we’re happy to discuss custom shipping options.
How many bundles fit in a full truckload?
A full truckload holds 36 bundles—that’s plenty to keep your horses fed and happy for the long haul.
How heavy are the bales?
Each bale is approximately 50 lbs at the time of baling—easy to stack, store, and handle.
How many cuts do you get per year?
We typically get 2–3 cuts per season, depending on what Mother Nature has in store.
Each cut is carefully timed to ensure the best possible nutrition and texture for your horses.
